The first volume of the ‘Unmanned: Architecture and Security Series’ brings together researchers from diverse disciplinary backgrounds whose work seeks to understand and represent the nature and extent of drone operations. It investigates the relationship between drone technology, cultural production, and forms of surveillance and violence, while in the process analysing and speculating on how these technological developments impact life in cities. The series will further explore the consequences of civilian appropriation of military technologies, setting an agenda for design professionals to engage on a technological, cultural, and political level by promoting forms of resistance.
