My Birth is the book version of Carmen Winant’s collage installation of the same name presented as a part of MoMA’s Being: New Photography 2018 exhibition.
It includes images of Winant’s own mother giving birth to Winant and her 2 siblings along with found images of other women giving birth. The book also includes an original text by Winant exploring the shared but solidarity experience of birth as reflected during her second pregnancy.
